2010 highlighted

For every human being with any degree of love for fashion; minuscule or colossal, Chanel is the celestial body which we orbit around in awe. For most, Chanel is the starting point and for others it is the be-all and end-all; it is the most significant word in the language of fashion, the biggest brand, the best brand. During fashion week, every show, disregarding a few exceptions, is just part of the build up to paris as we are spiritually guided towards another chef-d’oeuvre de monsieur Lagerfeld. (when i become overwhelmed the voice in my head becomes quite posh and english gradually develops into french…)
Sooooo, as my second offering of 2010 highlights i call forth Chanel a/w 2010, Chanel s/s 2011 and, finally, Chanel pre-fall 2011.
Each collection is implausably distinct; we saw yeti chic, un grand spectacle around a man-made Versailles garden and also Paris Byzance recreated with a 60s twist. Each marvellous collection had an equal amount of chanel grandeur and a-list appeal regardless of venue, size, scale, sound-track or guests and why is this so? Well simply because it is CHANEL and chanel has power over all.
