Posen's princesses

If i was given one and a half words to describe zac posen pre-fall 2011, it would probably be body-con. Every single dress was shaped like a herve leger bandage number, with panelling down the sides and front to cut a slimmer figure. However, tougher and darker materials were used here to make the collection more distinct.
Posen had a clever little trick up his sleeve when he selected models Hilary Rhoda, Crystal Renn, Leigh Lezark and Anna Cleveland; not only is it the fact that he used various models to debut prefall, but these models are more high profile than most and, what’s more, is that he inventively threw in the plus-size queen whos touch turns everything to gold- crystal renn. What a strategic little designer you are, kudos mr posen.

One thing to note about my complex tendencies is that i am very “all or nothing”; i either love or hate something and every good thing is the “best” or “my favourite” no matter how many times i have said it before. So, anyway, i know i wrote yesterday that the white dress from Monique L’huillier was my favourite pre-fall look and i know that every day before that i have professed my love for various other pieces but i retract everything in honour of Zac Posen’s blue animal print skinny-fit suit. There is no material item on this earth that i crave more right now.
For once, this season, i only have positive comments with regards to this newest collection. I adored the tight fit of the dresses which held such a clean look alongside the messy layering when the furs were intruduced. What inspired me most, however, was the unexpected grungyness that came through dark the hair and make-up of the models and their awkward stances, especially that of Leigh Lezark who i could stare at adoringly for hours on end. sigh. i love her, sigh.
