Romance is in the air this week and who better to channel the trend of divine, angelic sensitivity than Valentino?
Valentino is best known for ruffles, delicate fabrics and feminine shapes but today Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli put their own ambrosial, heavenly touch on couture. Their dainty angels moved along the catwalk in silk, feathers, organza, tulle and chiffon dresses in sensual nudes and celestial whites and ivories that were like light effortless whispering breathes; the duo even managed to make the vibrant valentino rose-red look gracefully weightless.
Valentino are devoted to a winning, signature “pretty” aesthetic but also succeed in engaging us with little advances and alluring adjustments which is a bewildering and desirable virtue.
