CHRISTOPHER KANE has been awarded the bfc/vogue designer fashion fund and i firmly believe that the power of MY positive thought aided him in this journey, i would therefore be grateful in receiving a personal call from the designer expressing his immense gratitude...but i wont sit up all night waiting for the phone to ring.

Christopher Kane has captured my heart and imagination in his last few collections. SS2011 brought a fresh excitement into the bones of fashion lovers, not only was it contemporary and deviceful, but demonstrated Kane's willingness to experiment as he minimised the use of what had become his "signature" digital prints and embellishments.

When he cited princess margaret as thematic inspiration, i knew we were in for an avant garde, developmental treat. Kane took princess margaret's "super sophisticated" essence in  below the knee skirts and aristocratic jackets but fused this together with her famous misbehaving persona that hid beneath the surface. This duplicicty was revealed in an array of acidic neon glows, suggestive sheer fabrics and saucy cut-out dresses. Of course, Kane couldn't move away form his signatures conclusively as clashing prints and triumphantly regal embellishments completed a vibrant, contemporary collection which leads us straight into a new era of the fashion designer.
