Fashion Week Round Up #2

Emanuel Ungaro
Yesterday it was the turn of Giles Deacon to take on fashion week and he went full force. To say that his debut for Ungaro was better than the Lindsay Lohan attempt is beyond an understatement. I’m actually embarassed that i mentioned it.

Giles put his own twist on the classic Ungaro look, favoured by socialites way back when, by adapting this idea to fit the party girls of today. There was a look of expensive excess with lace, embellishment and a huge feather head-dress, apt for any it-girl, past or present. Giles made another little reference to Ungaro history through the use of the iconic flower imagery, particularly the daisy, incorporating it into the theatrical backdrop.
The looks had retro elements but at the same time were very feminine and flirty by the use of delicate colours and, of course, drapery. Each piece was young, fun original and, all in all, showed a lot of promise for Giles Deacon’s future at Ungaro.

Chloe
When i think of Chloe i see seventies, i see beige, white, nude and i see sexy. Hanna MacGibbon’s new collection was, again, just that but it did not disappoint. In this new collection, minimalism was done so well with a classic colour pallet, sleek straight lines and beautiful elegant silhouettes.

Although the outfits had a distinct stamp on them, there was variation. we saw tight fitting body suits contrasting with lose flowing gowns. One of my favourites was an asymmetrical bronze number, tight at the top but sheer and flowing from the waist down. The collection was just so luxurious and expensive. Any woman’s dream.
