Hmmm...

Lately it seems that every magazine page I turn, every site I click on, every channel I tune into Kelly Osbourne is there. She must feel on top of the world at the moment; her career is really taking off, she looks incredible and every body loves her. But if we are being truly honest, would she be as popular without her dramatic weight loss? Personally, I don’t think so. To me, it’s just another example of how the industry is constantly sending out the wrong message; you will not be accepted if you are over weight. During fashion week she was seen in the front row of basically every show with designers sending her clothes and her ecstatic tales of how she finally fits into a sample size (0-2) Kelly Osbourne would never have been taken seriously in the fashion industry at her previous size.

I do agree that she looks amazing and she does deserve to be a role model for girls like her, trying to lose weight the healthy way, but success should be about more than a waist measurement or a bikini body. It seems that the more pounds she drops, the more job offers she receives and she’s not the only one; that’s usually the way things work in Hollywood. It is totally unfair to those who have worked hard to carve out a career for themselves. Why should her looks trump their talent?
