I suspect that Monique L’Huillier has been spending a lot of time in her garden lately. I saw the strong floral inspiration not only in the bold colours and patterns of the pre-fall colection but also in the shape and the ruching of the fabric, one dress even looked like it was made from astro-turf, or something to that effect
Apart from the garden theme, I was also drawn to a recurring sinched-in waist to perhaps entice the body-concious starlets who want to flaunt their assets come awards season. However, there is no incentive needed to choose Monique L’Huilliers eveningwear, after all, it is without doubt her specialty.
The entire collection was stunning but the end section blew me away with one dress even providing a much needed “wow moment”. I saw the white, sparkling gown and couldn’t stop myself from internally screaming “WEDDING DRESS”. My favourite pre-fall 2011 look by far.
