Sacre Bleu!

Carine Roitfeld, the unknown model who managed to make the big time as editor of french vogue, has handed in her resignation after 10 years and declared that the january 2011 issue, guest-edited by tom ford, will be her last.
Roitfeld is unique in the fact that she is the only one of her US and U.K. counterparts (Anna Wintour and Alexandra Schulman) who does not have a background in journalism, yet she is just as successful and credible.
Carine has worked as a model, consultant, stylist and writer. She was muse to Tom Ford, worked alongside Mario Testino and during her ten years, has brought an edge french vogue that is absent in other magazines and can not be matched. Her powerful influence and contribution in all fields has made french vogue iconic.
She is admired as a hard-working business woman as well as being recognised as a style and beauty icon. Carine Roitfeld is an inspiration to women everywhere. i wish her “bonne chance” with future projects.
Conde Nast will announce her replacement in the comming weeks.
