Bloody Mary

Mary Katrantzou is one of my favourite new designers. Her hyperrealist digital prints and trompe l'oeil effects represent an innovative new fashion era wherein she is the pioneer. Katrantzou creates art in motion, however, the woman wearing her dress is not just an easel for the designer's canvas, she is "a liberated spirit with a strong sense of style" So, it pleases me to say that the next Mary K capsule collection for Topshop will hit the highstreet  this comming Valentine's day!!!!

This is one designer/highstreet collaboration that i can get on board with! The new line will bare elements of Katrantzou's ss2011 pieces which were heavily inspired by Architectural Digest, world of interiors, seventies photographers and the lives of the rich and famous. The idea was "to put the room on the woman rather than put the woman in the room" Watching her collection move down the runway was like peeking through the keyhole of an affluent socialite.

The collection will be made up of printed shift dresses, scarves and, if you're anywhere near Oxford Circus, you can get your claws into a Mary Katranzou manicure at the Wah nail salon.

On 14th February, if you see me galloping towards Topshop like a crazed lunatic, you'll at least have some idea as to why i  am doing so.
