Elle stylin

Fashion never sleeps.

What a friggin understatement. Although most of the time i live for the abundance, now im longing for a quiet moment and wishing that fashion would take a power nap, if only for ten minutes.

Last night it was the turn of the Elle Style Awards to exhaust my brain but with that slight bitter note comes something delightfully sweet in the form of beautiful women and gorgeous gowns. it felt like a Goldilocks moment; the BAFTAs were too bland, the Grammy's were too crazy but the Elle Style Awards were just right.

YET AGAIN, were were struck with the recurring theme of rainbow brights and blinding prints but, generally and thankfully, the stylish bunch swayed heavily towards personal style rather than trends.

Cheryl Cole, winner of best music, was flying the flag for british talent in a scarlet Alexander McQueen dress with accompanying kuckle duster clutch.

Best music: Cheryl was awarded the gong for her music and beamed as she flied the flag for British designers in her Alexander McQueen dress

Blake Lively turned heads in an electric blue mullet style Pucci dress with casual hair and make-up

BEST DRESSED; Jaime Winstone did cool and quirky without going OTT. i want her wardrobe, or at least her stylist.

Back in black: Jo Wood was in a 1970s style maxi dress, Lisa Snodwon in a classic LBD, while Jaime Winstone kept it quirky  Jaime Winstone
