In the Navy

Rosella Jardini joined the armed forces and sailed the seven seas to enclose her target.

The designer successfully brought in the catch of the day; a collection of naval inspired menswear adaptations, punctuated with uniformed femininity. Moschino's fall fleet comprised double breasted trenches, gold braided yacht club jackets and tuxedos tailored with slinky satin and enriched with colourful cummerbunds, embellished bow ties and flirtatious jaunty caps. The masculine pieces found a feminine flare, as they kicked out at the hips with ruffles to enunciate a curvy silhouette.

There was also a flotilla of playful vintage pieces dancing around the collection. Some had a serpentine softness aided by the smooth crepe de chine fabric while others felt a "breakfast at tiffany's" charm cultivated with Michelle Obama elegance. Often short and fitted, these party dresses were perfect for the captain's ball, eyeing up mischief with quaint additives such as pearls, long gloves and a "show girl" feather head-dress.

Jardini's latest offering is enchantingly artful with a signature quirk to appease and flatter the hard-core Moschino addicts
