Kane, saw and conquered

It was a sea of style at Christopher Kane this afternoon.

Fluidity was immediately rife at the very introduction of modern crocheted knits following smooth geometric lines. However, despite the slight indication, no sane being could have anticipated the tsunami which was to submerge the entire collection and subsequently mark it with a sleek oceanic mood.

The bonny Glaswegian sailed us towards a new style of minimalism in  reserved, subdued shades of deep navy and shy lagoon blue. Wet-look leather and iridescent sequins upon flowing transparent textiles imitated the glitter of a silent moonlit lake....if the lake was found on Mars. Also, to rain a specific signature over his aquatic mermaids, Kane added strips of watery plastic, colourfully marbelled with vegetable dye, to trim his pieces with a dewy liquid fluency.

Christopher Kane took an imaginative position when it came to sourcing influence; pencil cases, lava lamps and lollipops brought a seemingly boyhood dream to fruition. But even with the fanciful child-like nuances, there was an undeniable sophisticated wearability to the clothing; i mean come on, who wouldn't be proud to steal a crochet like that from their granny?
