lace me up

colour was so last season.

For fall 2011, Monique L'Huillier laid off the vibrant trend to play with shape and texture. The palette was moody and sultry with brown, black and a light taste of aubergine, insisting us to focus upon the feminine charm.

To begin with, the looks were almost secretarial but grew free and girly towards the middle by incorporating playful bows, cinched in waists and caressing chantilly lace.

There were delicate dramatics and quiet hollywood glamour when it came to the succession of spectacular signature gowns. The weightless chiffon moved effortlessly and sat upon the body with graceful fluidity. The designer climaxed her collection with airy volume through tulle, valentino-esque ruffles and ethereal frothy feathers that were illusive and sublte, but in no way understated.

A breathtakingly elegant collection, perfect for valentines day.
