Decay and Decadence

It was love at first sight. An immediate captivation which not only lured me in with physical attraction but also enchanted my heart. My pupils dilated, blood rushed to the surface and my vision got hazy peering at my beloved through the dusty computer screen.

This is NOT a storm of irritating melodrama, THIS is unexaggerated devotion to a friggin fantastic editorial.

"Decay and Decadence" is a digital editorial by Cristine Leone and Melissa Carew, exclusively for Trendland, exploring the curiosity of blighted opulence. The imagesperfectly conjure assumptions of terror and bitterness, which are particularly evocative of the most recent Marchesa collection, following the cursed tale of the decrepit Miss Havisham from Dicken's "Great Expectations".

Nevertheless, "Decay and Decadence" arouses its own peculiarity in summoning contemporary designs with ragged, gothic edges. Referencing 1930s surrealism, combined with 1980s hammer horror productions, the editorial permits a devout sense of degenerate grandeur with regards the Chapel backdrop and forlorn stance of the beautifully ornamented models. The relationship between both decay and decadence is hugely antagonistic, soaking affluent designs in a sinister and hostile tone.
