May day fashion teas at the Down Royal

Horse Racing has nothing to do with horses. Of course one can indulge in the possible thrill of winning a few quid on a horse you can barely remember the name of, but for us ladies, horse racing has sod all to do with horses.

The real jackpot, of course is the opulent fashion.

On the 2nd May, us fashion hungry females can gallop along to the Down Royal Racecourse in aid of a traditional  pre-race afternoon tea. Reposing in luxurious extravagance, you can unwind to the soothing melodies of a harpist before regaling in the splendour of fashionable festivities from Hillsborough's own Candy Plum Boutique, who will award a £250 gift voucher to the best dressed lady.

Whilst relishing lavishly in the decadent designs, you will also be given the opportunity to expand your racing knowledge in an enjoyable presentation hosted by Pamela Ballentine.

An opportunity not too be missed, the May Day Fashion Teas are the perfect excuse to unwind and mingle in stylish company.

Manager of Down Royal, Mike Todd, said, “I am delighted that the teas were so popular last year and we are hoping to give guests even more of a thrill this year, coupling brand new, eye catching fashion with exhilarating racing.  May Day is the perfect opportunity to enjoy afternoon fashion teas at Down Royal; there is a real style buzz in the air as ladies don their new summer attire, so to add the best dressed prize to this day heightens the intensity and ups the style stakes!  Candy Plum’s styling is fabulous and my staff are on hand to cater to each lady’s every whim, a winning combination for the perfect day at the races.”

Tickets are priced at £35.00 and are available from Down Royal on 028 9262 1256 or online at www.downroyal.com. Guests are asked to arrive at 12pm on 2nd May.
