Paradise

Unkle Karl is about to embark on his most adventurous project yet; a fashion island. No, seriously I’m not joking. He and architecture firm Oppenheim are, together designing the “Isla Moda”; the world’s first fashion island located off the coast of Dubai. This sounds like a ridiculous joke but it is 100% true. The fabulous little paradise, to be complete by 2014, will feature three luxury hotels, villas and fancy little boutiques, obviously. I can see the decadence already. As designer of Chanel, the island will of course be perfection. I envisage ladies in their moth-bitten tweed, little 2.55’s hanging from trees, the odd J12 blooming from the exotic flower beds and everyone wearing the statement Lagerfeld shades!

I couldn’t believe this at first, I still can’t to be honest. I keep looking at the pictures in utter disbelief, not knowing whether to laugh or book my flight (not that I could EVER afford it). Then again it can’t be that shocking, King Karl is too big for Paris, he NEEDS his own island. It was bound to happen sooner or later.
