Every year I'm sure I'll get it right. For me this isn't just a prediction; I use this super accurate equation based on 'who stars in what ad campaign' multiplied by 'who has been to which shows' adding on 'what have they previously worn' Sometimes I get pretty darn close, but I must be shit at fashion maths because mostly I'm wrong.
Yet I still keep guessing...
Rooney Mara can pull off the more creative and avant-garde shapes but usually sticks to neutrals. I'd love to see her in a pastel shade from the Alexis Mabille couture collection ( minus blue face and hat)
However, for the Oscars, she'll likely wear something dramatic that references her dark character in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. This Gucci a/w 2012 dress would emphasize her flawless face, cutting cheekbones and angular hair-style. Just as long as she covered up the nips.
Angelina Jolie would look like an old screen siren in something from the vampy, 1940s inspired Jenny Packham a/w collection.
Viola Davis is an Oscars first timer, so it would be clever to choose something impressive but not too theatrical from a fail-safe label like Marchesa.
Michelle Williams tends to favour couture gowns, usually opting for Valentino or Chanel. I presume Karl will rustle up a little custom made number, along the lines of this drop-waist navy dress from the recent Chanel couture collection.
Berenice Bejo will probably either wear a vintage number from the 1920s archives or a custom made Elie Saab creation. But the french actress would turn heads in a decadent dress from the Givenchy couture collection; a modern interpretation of old Hollywood.
Jessica Chastain is known for making bold red carpet choices. She seems likely to wear Amani Prive after being flown in for the show, so I would like to see her wear this green sequined column dress to complement her fiery hair
Gwyneth Paltrow's body type is suited to the form fitting Stella McCartney dresses and slinky Calvin Klein column shapes. She might choose something similar to previous red carpet excursions like something gold or metallic from Ralph Lauren. it's an unlikely pick but I think she'd look incredible in this green velvet Gucci dress.
Emma Stone has previously wowed in brightly colour-blocking from Calvin Klein and Lanvin. I'd like to see her in something with more detail, in an off-beat colour that would be daring against her hair and skin tone, like this Elie Saab couture dress. After all, it's not the Oscars without Elie Saab.
And in my head I'll be wearing this deep plum, velvet gown from L'Wren Scott
ma come hai fatto ad indovinare il vestito di Stacy Keibler?? brava!!!
