Lanvin pre-fall

Alber Elbaz is a weird guy but, you got to hand it to him; he has a secret ingredient that makes his collections work. As always, pre-fall Lanvin had plenty of drama, even if you ignore the wild animals…..
Elbaz has correctly remarked that more women are opting for evening-wear as day-wear. He, therefore, injected effortless glamour and elegance with flowing silk, ruffles, black, champagne and ivory; as expensive and luxurious as ever. For pre-fall, all of this was put into capes, boxy jackets and thick tights to make it season-appropriate.
I can’t write about this collection without any reference to the animal thing. I found it inexplicably bizarre when first scrolling through the looks but, as with all oddities, i grew to understand and enjoy it. I saw how the pieces mirrored the shape, colour and sometimes the movement of each animal it was paired with. I loved, what i have titled, the emerald green “parrot dress” which was so rich in colour. I also favoured the glitzy “zoo-keeper outfit” which seemed to be an amalgamation of various animalistic influences.
I would definitely flash the cash for some of this…but only if the panther comes with it.
