space man

In the blink of an eye we have gone from the extravagant decadence of the 1940s with Dior and skipped at the speed of light into another futuristic alien dimension with Armani.
Giorgio Armani played creator, putting together his own galaxy of stars, planets and extra-terrestrial beings. The collection was awash with shimmering metallics of deep purple, navy and green shades in unconventional silhouettes, similar to ufos or a design more suited to nasa. Then there were the models who looked like otherwordly life-forms with their faces hidden beneath bold philip treacy head-pieces to boost that modernistic vision.
Towards the end we saw explosions of colour and patterns that mimicked constellations and surfaces of exotic unknown planets. There was also intricate encrusting of stones and crystals to let the dresses dazzle and glimmer like night-sky filled with shimmering stars.
